Another New Venture in the Fio-sphere. Yes, Again.
With a “heartfelt commitment to serve Africa,” Christiaan Heymann has launched Fio Africaneurs—a networking platform (and so much more) that blends spiritual grounding with business savvy.
It’s part marketplace, part mastermind group, part prayer meeting, and part networking group—and if that sounds like a lot, it’s because it is.
The very first Fio Africaneurs cluster meeting took place on the 29th of May at Blos Café in Pretoria.
Picture this: a crackling fireplace, coffee in hand, and entrepreneurs gathered at 8:30 AM on a chilly winter morning. No PowerPoint presentations (it was wonderful). No lanyards (that’s important). Just genuine connection and breakfast menus (two of the best things on the planet).
The conversation had the energy of a PTA meeting at a fancy private school:
“What do you do?”
“I’m in real estate—commercial property development. And you?”
“I own my own business. We do cybersecurity. Where do you do business?”
Fio Africaneurs
An ever-growing network that empowers entrepreneurs and champions Africa’s future. Where bold entrepreneurs unite.
Except here, no one’s flexing their quarterly earnings or name-dropping their child’s international piano coach.
These entrepreneurs are here to grow—and help others grow, too. Property practitioners (apparently the legally correct term for an “Estate Agent”—thank you, lawyer friends) traded insights about emerging markets, while attorneys discussed… legal things. I avoided that table.
Growth and faith
Once everyone was caffeinated and eggs Benedict-ed, Heymann, CEO of Fio Africaneurs, opened the morning with a prayer, setting the tone for a meeting that would be equal parts faith and focus.
“We are a Christian, Faith-based organisation, and we plan on keeping it that way as we expand.”
– Ajay Wasserman, CEO of Fio Capital
Fio Africaneurs is the newest branch of the ever-growing Fio Capital tree. And let’s just say—they’re not dreaming small.
“We plan on expanding throughout Africa,” said Heymann. “Our next step is to get more cluster captains who can run [these] meetings, so that there are more meetings.
Simple enough. But Providence had other plans.
“[Fio Africaneurs] was originally just supposed to be in the African continent,” Heymann explained. “But people contacted us from Germany—it’s people who come from Africa and are now in another country, and they also want a Fio Africaneur group by them.”
So now, what started as a local community may soon become a global diaspora of faith-fueled founders.

What truly sets Fio Africaneurs apart from other entrepreneurial platforms is that it’s not just about networking—it’s about net working. Not in the financial sense (though that’s encouraged), but in the “your vibe attracts your tribe” kind of way.
The cluster meetings are structured yet high-energy, designed to move beyond the usual business-card shuffle. Deals happen. Referrals fly. But most importantly, relationships grow deeper than your average LinkedIn connection.
Inclusivity is central to the mission. Whether you’re selling handcrafted jewellery at a weekend market or managing a high-rise full of tech startups, Fio Africaneurs wants you at the table—or the café, as it were.
“What we ask of our members is to be kind and hungry to grow.”
– Christiaan Heymann
No red tape. No fifteen-step approval processes. Just people showing up online or in person, ready to level up their businesses and their mindsets.
What membership means
Membership isn’t just about attendance; it’s about access to resources, growth, and community. For a yearly investment of $250, members get a whole lot more than just a warm cup of coffee:
Exclusive Networking: Pitch your ideas, find collaborators, and exchange game-changing referrals.
Leadership Development: Rotating leadership roles give every member a chance to shine—and avoid burnout.
Cost-Effective Growth: Big value, small price. Sorry, traditional networking platforms.
At the heart of the network is a cultural code rooted in African values—a commitment to “grow together” and ensure no entrepreneur is left behind.
For those still weighing whether to get involved, Heymann offers this encouragement: “And what we have built with Fio Africaneurs is to be the helping hand for the entrepreneurs to succeed.”
It’s not just another business group. It’s a movement—a meeting point for faith, community, and commerce. One where your startup pitch might be followed by a moment of prayer, and where your next big break might just be sitting across the breakfast table.
